A Self Portrait

This is a cartoonized version of me, using a call-back from the way I originally drew cartoons.

I've been cartooning since 2002 and my style as evolved significantly since. I chose to draw myself today because it is my birthday and I'm too much of a cheapskate this month to buy things for me.

NOTES

I've grown a very thin goatee since 2010 when my profile picture was first taken and have gained a bit of weight (not represented well here because of the stylistic limitations). Everything in the picture is based on things that I wear or do IRL. So, for starters, those are all my actual clothes, down to the style of the glasses and the tattered sandals. I don't own the knitcap/beanie, though. I borrow it from my brother. It's also a habit of mine to wrap receipts around my frappe after I get it and often carry a sling bag holding a preposterous amount of things, usually paper, sketchpads, portfolios, and books, but can consist of just about anything. I had really strong shoulders in high school.
